A Brazilian manufacturer has won two of the most prestigious awards in its sector in a technology partnership with Cinpres.
Lorenzetti – a leading supplier of domestic appliances – became the first company to receive awards for both product and innovation* for the design of its “Ducha Advanced” electric shower.
The equipment has been specifically designed so that Gas Assisted Molding (GAM) technology from Cinpres can be used in its manufacture. The result is savings in cost, material usage and cycle times – and a flawless surface finish with no shrinkage marks or distortion.
“We have been able to achieve significant cost savings by being involved in this project from the outset,” said Cinpres Latin Region Sales Manager Mr Manuel Aros. “In the design stage we used digital 3D prototyping to ascertain the correct amount of material required, improve gas penetration and optimise injection speed, clamp force and injection pressure – all of which would traditionally require costly physical trials.”
As part of the project, Lorenzetti has purchased gas preparation systems, pressure controllers and the licensed Plastic Expulsion Process (PEP) for its plant in São Paulo.

The technology generates internal cavities in products and components, reducing weight, cost and material usage and speeding-up cycle times. It is being applied to everything from furniture to automotive components.
Equipment and process support for this project was provided by Pamatech, Cinpres’ Brazilian representative, which is also based in São Paulo.
