  Technical Centre Investment for Cinpres

Cinpres Gas Injection is to create a ‘technical centre of excellence’ at its head office in Middlewich, Cheshire.

The company says the centre will include molding facilities and a full suite of Cinpres equipment and will be used for customer visits, training, and its own research and development work.

“We do a lot of technical development with customers to help them find ideal solutions for particular applications – consultancy work of this sort is a big part of our business,” said Managing Director, Jon Butler.

“Although we already have the technical facilities to do that, we’re upgrading them and putting them into a clearly defined, self-contained environment.”

The firm committed to its new centre after US-based competitor Melea announced that it was being wound up.  Melea and Cinpres have been locked in international legal disputes for decades – all centered on contested licenses for technology – but the courtroom fight finally ended last year with a clear victory for Cinpres, which also won costs.

“Customers now have a clear and undisputed global license situation and it has freed us up to do many of the things that will take the company forward,” said Mr Butler.

“When your rights to your own technology are constantly being challenged you have to be very careful about what you release to the market and the information you give out – that murky environment has been cleared.

“We have a queue of new ideas in this company waiting to see the light of day, and the technology centre will help us to develop them, bring them to market, demonstrate them to customers, and finally help customers use them to maximum effect.”
